Design for Social Change

This is going to be a short post, because it links to a longer  (also awesome-er) article on AIGA’s website… I tend to talk a lot about how my ultimate goal as a designer is to enact some kind of positive social change, but feel like I have a hard time fully articulating what that means (and all of the complexities that accompany any design done for a social impact). This article, written by designer Andrew Shea (who also has a new book out on the topic), chronicles his experiences using graphic design as an instrument of social change. It’s an interesting and thought-provoking read, so click here to see what he has to say!
